How to get started with my sewing machine?
“So I have finally received my new machine, the courier just arrived and was super nice so I even tipped him. I just unpacked the machine and it looks great on the table in the salon, though the box is scattered everywhere along with fabrics and everything I purchased the day before.”
But what now??
“You look skeptically at the instruction manual, you know you have to read it eventually… but it would be great to test out the machine really quick first. Any you know, maybe sew a quick and easy skirt or at least a little bag first…”
Please read the instruction manual before starting use of the machine!
You will be familiarized with all information regarding use, safety and maintenance. However, if the manual is not sufficient, you can also watch a short tutorial video in which we briefly and clearly cover the most important features and steps to properly using the machine.
Here’s a short video with the Amelia II machine on how to insert threads, wind them on the bobbin and preform many other important steps that will make your first steps sewing more comfortable and worry free.

“ Kay great, but my machine looks nothing like that… its got a bunch of buttons and a weird display and its making noises… It’s not going to explode right?”
No worries, nothing explosive here, besides maybe your enthusiasm. That just means you’ve got yourself an electric machine. On one hands its something totally different, on the other the basic use is somewhat similar. See below a tutorial video for Helena 2060, an electric and technologically advanced machine.

“ OK, great! I know everything now! I have to get started, I’m planning on sewing some pillow cases, a cute bag, suit for the hubby and maybe a toy or two for the kids…”
Great, glad we could help and that you’re so motivated! But remember to still read the instruction manual before getting started. The tutorial videos are a great supplement, however to ensure your safety and the longevity of you machine it is important to still read the entire manual.
